Janine Zimmerman Schatz is an experienced litigator who litigates both domestic relations matters and commercial disputes.
For all of her clients, Janine takes a hands-on approach to assessing the totality of their circumstances and using the litigation process to meet their needs. She has advocated for clients and negotiated settlements in complex family law cases, including the effectuation of separation agreements, judgments of divorce, equitable distribution of marital assets, child support obligations, and child custody arrangements. In addition, Janine has obtained numerous judgments in commercial matters involving the breach of contractual obligations.
Prior to Port & Sava, Janine’s experience involved plaintiff’s personal injury and products liability litigation, including pharmaceutical mass torts and class actions. She is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, obtaining a J.D. in 2010, and a 2006 graduate of Boston University, where she obtained a B.A. in Political Science and Economics, cum laude. During law school, Janine enjoyed a year-long internship with the Federal Trade Commission’s Northeast Regional office and was active in Brooklyn Law Students for the Public Interest (BLSPI).
Janine is currently the President of BNI Long Island Referral Source, as well as a member of the Nassau County Bar Association. She is also a volunteer Religious School teacher at Temple Am Echad in Lynbrook.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, experiencing the outdoors with her family, and attending concerts.
